City kept pushing and scored his sixth goal fifteen minutes before the end. Meslier parried Aymeric Laporte’s header and John Stones’ first shot, but couldn’t prevent the defender’s second devastating blast going into the roof of the goal: 6-0. Substitute Nathan Aké headed in the 7-0 from a Foden corner.

Krul was forced to make a first save in the eighth minute when John McGinn fired on the Norwich goalkeeper’s goal. Krul took a few steps back and tapped the ball over the bar.
