Manchester City recorded their biggest win of the season on Tuesday evening. The men of Josep Guardiola showed their true blood form and completely outplayed Leeds United: 7-0. Leader City increases the gap with Liverpool to four points, but the Reds will be in action on Thursday. Furthermore, Tim Krul went down with Norwich City almost without a chance against Aston Villa (0-2), so that the Canaries remain at the bottom of the Premier League.

Manchester City v Leeds United 7-0
Manchester City’s whirlwind started from the first whistle and led to two goals within thirteen minutes. The breakthrough Rodri was stopped by goalkeeper Illan Meslier, after which Phil Foden pushed in the rebound: 1-0. Shortly afterwards, Jack Grealish headed in from a perfect turning cross from Riyad Mahrez. After half an hour of play, Kevin De Bruyne was released on the left side of the penalty area. The Belgian came out in a difficult corner, but still managed to shoot the ball behind Meslier: 3-0.

Even after rest the Citizens anything but into it. Mahrez had some fortune in the 49th minute, when his shot from Junior Firpo’s block landed exactly in the opposite corner from where he was aiming: 4-0. Stuart Dallas hit the post on behalf of Leeds, but the visitors had nothing else to say. Foden saw a striker rejected for offside, but De Bruyne made it 5-0 moments later. The attacking midfielder was really devastating from eighteen meters.

City kept pushing and scored his sixth goal fifteen minutes before the end. Meslier parried Aymeric Laporte’s header and John Stones’ first shot, but couldn’t prevent the defender’s second devastating blast going into the roof of the goal: 6-0. Substitute Nathan Aké headed in the 7-0 from a Foden corner.

Norwich City – Aston Villa 0-2
Krul was forced to make a first save in the eighth minute when John McGinn fired on the Norwich goalkeeper’s goal. Krul took a few steps back and tapped the ball over the bar. Aston Villa, where Anwar El Ghazi was missing due to corona perils, took the lead after half an hour. Jacob Ramsey started a long solo on the center line and was able to cross to the penalty area, where he found the crossing with a hard shot: 0-1. Krul made a good save after the break on a header from Ollie Watkins, but the Aston Villa striker still managed to score in the absolute final phase. Watkins simply ran into a low cross from Carney Chukwuemeka at the far post: 0-2.
