Olympique Lyon booked a convincing victory in the Ligue 1 on Sunday evening. At home, the team of trainer Peter Bosz took on RC Strasbourg, which was defeated 3-1. The best goal of the evening came from the foot of Moussa Dembélé. Thanks to the victory, Lyon occupies eighth place in the ranking with eight points from five matches; Strasbourg remains in fifteenth position with four points.

Finally, Jason Denayer closed the game in the 64th minute. Xherdan Shaqiri found the head of the Belgian defender from a corner kick, who was given plenty of room to nod inside: 2-0. Three minutes before the final whistle, Lucas Paquetá also put his name on the scoreboard. The attacking midfielder scored on a pass from Houssem Aouar. Strasbourg’s goal of honor was credited to Habib Diallo, who took care of the 3-1 from the penalty spot.
It was a welcome win for Lyon, as the club faces a tough week. On Thursday, Bosz’s men will meet Rangers in the group stage of the Europa League, while the league smasher against Paris Saint-Germain is scheduled for next weekend.
