Lille OSC’s start to the season in Ligue 1 is extremely difficult. The reigning champions of France visited Lorient – which finished 16th last season – down 2-1, thanks to a goal from Terem Moffi shortly before the end. It means that lesson Dogues Currently occupying tenth place in the French league with five points from five games, but the gap on leader Paris Saint-Germain can already rise to ten points this weekend.

Lille – with Sven Botman in the starting eleven and Gabriel Gudmundsson who came over from FC Groningen as a substitute – had a dramatic start in the Stade du Moustoir, because after seven minutes of play there was already a deficit on the scoreboard. Moffi kept four defenders busy at the same time, kept possession of the ball and kept the overview to bring Armand Laurienté into position. With 25 minutes on the clock, Burak Yilmaz was knocked out in the penalty area by Julien Laporte and the Turkish striker himself shot the equalizer against the ropes from eleven yards. The game then headed for a draw, until the decision was made three minutes before the end. Moffi tapped a low cross near the near post from an opponent behind Grbic and gave Lorient – the new number four in Ligue 1 – a 2-1 victory. For Lille, it was the second loss of the season, having already lost 0-4 to OGC Nice.
