Gary Lineker is again extremely critical of the VAR in England on Saturday. The former striker and television presenter responds on Twitter to the debatable red card that West Ham United defender Fabian Balbuena received in the home game against Chelsea (0-1).
Balbuena shot a ball away in the 81st minute of the game and after his shooting movement ended up with his shoe on the lower leg of Ben Chilwell. Referee Chris Kavanagh awarded a red card to the Paraguayan man after viewing the images, but according to Lineker that is seriously unjustified. “Oh ffs (for fuck sake or ‘for God’s sake’, ed.), that’s not a red card “, the former striker writes.” He just clears the ball. Ridiculous. “

Lineker is apparently so upset about the decision that he tweeted again shortly after. “How can VAR and the referee be so wrong?” Asks Lineker. “It’s just mind-boggling. Downright mind-boggling.” Chelsea won the game thanks to a goal just before half time from Timo Werner, who scored again for the first time in 68 days on behalf of the Blues.
