Kees Kwakman enjoyed the performance of Dusan Tadic against Young Boys (3-0) on Thursday evening. The captain of Ajax took the 2-0 for his account and played a strong match on the whole, Kwakman remarked in the studio of ESPN. In particular, the preparatory work that Tadic performed for teammates can count on the approval of the analyst.

Tadic created four opportunities; only David Neres could keep up with him in that regard. One of the opportunities created by Tadic was Davy Klaassen’s 1-0. “How much he creates in a match, how often he sees fellow players, those crosses, those cutting movements …”, Kwakman summed up. “Today he felt completely like a fish in water, because he could collapse and Klaassen dived over it. That one-two at the goal was also a pleasure,” the analyst referred to the combination between Tadic and Klaassen prior to the 2-0.

Kwakman played in the 2010/11 season together with Tadic at FC Groningen. He can particularly remember the interaction between Tadic and the then left back Fredrik Stenman. “He didn’t have this level with us yet. He does depend on people around him. When he had the ball with us, he always said, “Just go and walk.” You just have to walk, because that ball is coming. He had an incredibly good connection with Stenman. It kept running; Tadic put his ass in it and kept giving those balls to him. ”

“At Ajax he now plays with much better, running players. That suits him very well. Maybe he suits Ajax better than at Southampton. The level he reaches now is out of category”, the former midfielder concluded. Tadic was mentioned in the report from Football zone rated with a 7.5 and thus received the highest mark among the team from Amsterdam, together with Edson Álvarez and Nicolás Tagliafico.
