Luc Castaignos may be back in the Eredivisie in the near future. The Telegraph writes Monday that ADO Den Haag has the attacker in mind to give new impetus to the vanguard. The 27-year-old Castaignos has been playing for the South Korean Gyeongnam FC since one and a half year, which plays in the second division of the Asian country.

With the exception of his three seasons at FC Twente, Castaignos was nowhere to convince after his transfer from Feyenoord to Internazionale in 2011. The striker went from Milan to Enschede for six million euros, where he was presented as Luuk de Jong’s successor. After 42 goals in 110 games, he went to Eintracht Frankfurt for 2.5 million euros in mid-2015, but that was not an unqualified success.

Also the periods of Castaignos at Sporting Portugal and Vitesse were not what both parties expected. With the club from Arnhem his last, temporary, employer in the Eredivisie was also mentioned. In 2017/18, Castaignos was mainly a banker at the Gelderland club and did not get further than six goals. In February 2019, he went to South Korea.

Ravel Morrison will undergo a medical examination in The Hague on Monday. The attacking midfielder has been under contract to Sheffield United for the past year and has been leased to Middlesbrough in the interim, despite Alan Pardew attempting to bring his compatriot to Hofstad on behalf of ADO. On behalf of Sheffield United, he made only one appearance in the Premier League; for Middlesbrough, he played three games in the Championship.

Morrison is known as an eternal talent. The talented midfielder went through the youth training of Manchester United and was once described by Sir Alex Ferguson as ‘the greatest talent ever’, but no breakthrough at Old Trafford was achieved. After leaving Manchester United he played for West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers, Cardiff City, Lazio, Atlas Guadalajara from Mexico, Lazio, Östersund from Sweden, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.

ADO can certainly use offensive impulses. The team of Aleksandar Rankovic lost to both Heracles Almelo (2-0) and FC Groningen (0-1) and, for the first time since January (when thirteen games in a row), is waiting for nine Eredivisie games to win: six draws and three defeats. ADO failed to score against Groningen for the fourth consecutive Eredivisie game: it was even the first time since September 2006 that the squad from the home town did not score a goal in four Eredivisie games in a row.
