Hellas Verona is not the only club in Serie A with an interest in Gyrano Kerk of FC Utrecht. Italian media are reporting Cagliari’s interest on Sunday. Also transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio writes about the orienting interest of the island club in the outdoor player, who is most likely working on his last weeks in the Domstad. Anyway, the 24-year-old Church has many options in various top competitions abroad.

Cagliari finished thirteenth in Serie A last season and wants to perform better in the current football year. A mandatory option to buy ensured that the previously hired Marko Rog and Giovanni Simeone, the eldest son of Diego Simeone, for an amount of between 25 and 30 million euros definitively added to the selection. Also the transfer free arrival of Diego Goddess of Internazionale state is about to be completed. Furthermore Razvan Marin came to Sardinia on a rental basis from Ajax, including a mandatory option to buy.

Church enjoys interest from clubs from Germany, England, Italy and Spain. However, he does not want to make a hasty decision and would not find it a disaster to finish the current season at FC Utrecht. The Eredivisie club anyway wants to receive a serious amount of money for the attacker and is reportedly thinking of a transfer fee of about ten million euros. Only when the right offer is made will the club let him go. The contract of Kerk in Utrecht runs until the summer of 2023.

“We have very consciously indicated that we want to keep the selection together,” said technical director Jordy Zuidam last week to Football International. “But we don’t let players go until there’s an amount that makes us move. At the moment, there isn’t. We assume that Kerk is still playing for FC Utrecht. For what amount of money can he leave? We don’t make any statements about that, but it has to be serious amounts. As a Dutch club you can’t say: “We never sell.”

At Cagliari, with Joao Pedro, one of the sensations of last season’s Series A is on the payroll. In his first three seasons in Serie A, the Brazilian did not get further than seven, six and seven hits respectively, but in the past football year he scored no less than eighteen times. Besides Joao Pedro and Simeone, Gastón Pereiro was also considered to be a possible flavor in the attack, but the ex-PSV’er did not show up in his first year, partly due to injury, and is currently also struggling with a foot injury.
