Latest update:

There is a storm within the Germany selection. During a public training on Monday, where according to BILD When 4,000 fans were present, Antonio Rüdiger and Niclas Füllkrug came to blows.

The German newspaper writes about a scuffle between the defender and attacker, which mainly involved pushing. Assistant coach Sandro Wagner had to intervene and pull the rivals apart.

That wasn't the end of it. Rüdiger treated his teammate to cynical applause, after which Wagner decided to talk to the Real Madrid player again. The former striker failed to calm him down.

Rüdiger subsequently no longer took part in the training, but started training separately from the group with the physical coach. Only later in the day did the two manage to smoke the peace pipe.

That it is now a cake and egg between Rüdiger and Füllkrug is evident from an Instagram post by the Borussia Dortmund striker. He posted a number of photos from the training, after which Rüdiger responded with an emoji of a red heart. The centre-back's comment was then answered by Füllkrug with three hearts.

For Julian Nagelsmann's Germany, the European Championship in their own country starts on Friday evening with a match against Scotland. The Allianz Arena in Munich will host the opening match of the final round at 9 p.m.

Die Mannschaft will also compete against Hungary (Wednesday, June 19) and Switzerland (Sunday, June 23) in the group stage.
