There are great divisions at Bayern Munich, as Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl outline in an analysis in BILD. The reason is a difference of opinion about the course to be taken. Thomas Tuchel could well become the head of jut.

Before Tuchel was signed by Bayern, the club had a clear vision in mind. Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller were identified as the dream leaders, with the task of passing on leadership to the next generation of leaders: Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.

The appointment of the latter pair to the sports council was a first important step. Kimmich and Goretzka were seen as the beating heart of the team, capable of setting the tone in midfield.

Matthijs de Ligt also had an important role to play. The Dutchman was given the task by then director Hasan Salihamidzic to act as leader in the newly formed three-man defense.

However, of the above five, only Neuer is still fully behind Tuchel. The goalkeeper and captain appreciates that his coach makes his own plans and does not care about outside influences.

It is known that Müller is not a regular starter under Tuchel. The Routinier plans to retire next year. Kimmich, Goretzka and De Ligt are also thinking about their future.

Now that Bayern seems to be missing out on the title in Germany for the first time in a long time, we conclude BILD that the club management will be faced with a fundamental decision next summer.

Either Tuchel is retained and a major renovation of the squad takes place, including the current key players, or Tuchel is said goodbye and a new coach is appointed who can count on the trust of the players.
