The Dutch made their mark on Sunday during the fifth round of the Jupiler Pro League. Joshua Zirkzee scored twice for Anderlecht in the 1-2 win against Cercle Brugge and became the first Dutchman with two goals for Purple-White since Michel Vlap in March 2020. At Club Brugge, Noa Lang (with a goal and an assist) and Ruud Vormer (with a goal) were important in the 0-4 win against Zulte Waregem.

Cercle Brugge – Anderlecht 1-2
Mid-engine Cercle Brugge scared Anderlecht – where Wesley Hoedt also had a base place – very early on, because Olivier Deman gave the home team the lead in the Jan Breydel stadium in the first minute. Even before the end of the first half hour, Joshua Zirkzee personally put things in order in Bruges. With thirteen minutes on the clock, the striker hired from Bayern Munich signed his first goal for Anderlecht, on a pass from Sergio Gómez. Fifteen minutes later he immediately made his second, by striking from a distance in a beautiful way. The lead created by Zirkzee was not relinquished by Anderlecht in the remainder of the game.

Zulte Waregem – Club Brugge 0-4
Club Brugge is experiencing a difficult start to the season and had to be patient until just before half-time when visiting Zulte Waregem before taking a lead. Charles De Ketelaere was not selfish and served Noa Lang, who first cut out Louis Bostyn for an empty target and then hit the target. Lang acted as principal with 65 minutes on the clock, when he put Ruud Vormer in position within the penalty area, the captain doubled the margin. Via Hans Vanaken and De Ketelaere, Club Brugge ran out to a comfortable 0-4 victory in the last twenty minutes, although the champion of Belgium ended the game with ten men after a red card for Eduard Sobol.
