Mbappé got to know Lucas when the young fan was given the opportunity to record a video message with a success wish for PSG players through Les Petites Bosses, an organization that supports sick children, before the Champions League final in August. Mbappe then kept in touch with Lucas. During the match against Nîmes on Friday, he showed a shirt with the text: ‘Be strong Lucas, I am with you’.

Lucas died Thursday morning in front of his family. Mbappé writes to be ‘deeply emotional’ now that Lucas ‘joins the stars’. “It is very difficult to find the right words, but it is necessary to pay a final tribute to this boy, who was brimming with love, sympathy and courage, from whom I learned so much and with whom I built a very strong bond I will try to make you proud because you are the real hero. ”

“You are the one who deserves all the credit after fighting this disease for more than ten months without grumbling,” Mbappé writes. “I’m so proud to have been your friend until your last breath. You bet I will be forever. May God take you to heaven, little angel.
