Young PSV achieved a resounding victory in the Kitchen Champion Division on Monday evening. The Eindhoven reserves won with big figures against Jong FC Utrecht (1-6). Young Ajax did not win for the seventh time in a row and went down against Young AZ (2-1). Furthermore, NEC managed to deal with direct competitor FC Volendam (1-0) in the battle for the play-offs. The people of Nijmegen can now count themselves rich in fifth place for participation, but FC Volendam also seems safe in seventh place.

Jong FC Utrecht – Jong PSV 1-6
The promises team of trainer Peter Uneken was already on roses before the third minute of play, when Shurandy Sambo convincingly nodded in from a cross by Fredrik Öppegard: 0-1. In the eleventh minute PSV ran even further away from the opponent, as Joël Piroe had a ditto finish after a nice run. The most appealing goal of the evening came from the foot of Fode Fofana, who put the 0-3 score on the scoreboard from a cross by Sambo with a bicycle kick. In the second act, the people of Eindhoven were certainly not planning to take their foot off the accelerator.

The 22 games were cold on the field after the break, when FC Utrecht had to deal with another blow. This time, the honor went to Tijn Daverveld, who nodded the 0-4 against the ropes on a pass from Öppegard. After an hour of play, Fofana put his name on the scoresheet again, with an excellent pinball that gave goalkeeper Maarten Paes the check: 0-5. Although Utrecht was able to add an honorary goal via Mohamed Mallahi, the final chord was played by the Eindhoven team. Substitute Johan Bakayoko coolly outwitted Paes and put the 1-6 final score on the scoreboard with his first goal for PSV.

Young AZ – Young Ajax 2-1
The best chances in the opening phase were for Young AZ, yet it was Young Ajax that took the lead after 25 minutes. Naci Ünüvar combined with Brian Brobbey and then shot the ball into the goal from the inside of the post: 0-1. Young AZ came back eight minutes later. Kjell Scherpen initially managed to save, but could not prevent Jelle Duin from taking advantage afterwards: 1-1. After the break Brobbey missed one-on-one with Hobie Verhulst, while Sontje Hansen hit the post. A beautiful goal from Kenzo Goudmijn gave Young AZ the win in the 69th minute. The midfielder cut in and then shot cleanly into the short corner: 2-1.

NEC Nijmegen – FC Volendam 1-0
The home team scored the first chance of the game via Elayis Tavsan, who was given room to shoot in a promising position but was inaccurate in the completion. On the other hand, Francesco Antonucci handed out a pinprick, but it was NEC that took the lead after nineteen minutes of play. Jordy Bruijn was brought down about twenty meters from the Volendam goal, allowing Tavsan to lay up for a free kick, which he curled nicely into the top corner: 1-0. The Nijmegen team then increased the pressure even further, but the urge to attack did not lead to another hit, due to a lack of sharpness and fortune for the goal. In the second act, Volendam tried to force another breakthrough through, among others, Martijn Kaars and Samuele Mulattieri; however, the equalizer was no longer possible.
