If it were up to Jurriën Timber, Wout Weghorst would play in the Ajax shirt next season. The Arsenal defender said this in an extensive interview with supporter Bart Veenstra of Ajax ShowtimeTimber calls his fellow international an 'absolute winner', who Ajax can use well.

Timber still follows Ajax, also because of his friends at the club. “I still speak to Devyne, Kenneth, Brian and both Stevens (Berghuis and Bergwijn, ed.).” Timber also asked the Ajax players for their opinion on coach Francesco Farioli.

“I spoke to them after the first day, but it was too early to really give an opinion about the new coach. The first impression was very good, from what I heard. But for a complete judgment, I would have to ask again,” said the curious Timber.

Pablo Rosario and Wout Weghorst are among those heavily linked to a transfer to Ajax. Timber is keen on the arrival of that duo. “They would be great signings.”

Weghorst knows Timber well from the Dutch national team. “That's an absolute winner, Wout. You can use him at Ajax. One hundred percent.”

Timber sees himself returning to Ajax one day. “That would be great if that happens sometime in the future. It is of course difficult to say now, but I would like to play for Ajax again. Those were really great times at Ajax.”
