Marciano Vink believes that Ajax should continue to select next season. According to the analyst, the left flank with Daley Blind and Dusan Tadic in particular is on the slow side. Vink would like to see new players get the chance to fight for themselves in the team next season.

Ajax has put serious transfer fees on the table in recent years to add a lot of experience to the selection with Blind and Tadic. The arrival of the two has done Ajax no harm, but the two Ajax players have to pay more and more often. Vink states that Ajax should look for successors for the two experienced players. “You can train new players there next season. Then they (Tadic and Blind, ed.) can come into the field from the bench if necessary. That way you can refresh,” he says at the ESPN-program football talk

“Tadic is a phenomenon in numbers, that’s not what the discussion is about,” continues Vink. “He’s just getting older too. You can see that at certain switching times. At the moment you have to take into account that the left side is a bit slower and can play less far forward. My feeling is that this is the last season in which you can really reap the benefits in that combination,” the analyst refers to a wing with Tadic and Blind.

After the defeat of Ajax against Benfica (0-1) in the Champions League, Tadic could also count on considerable criticism from Johan Derksen. “Maybe he is gradually due for replacement,” the analyst said on Wednesday evening Today Inside† “He is becoming more and more annoying, starts rolling around and then looks indignantly at the referee, but he doesn’t bring much anymore.” The 33-year-old wing attacker, like the one year younger Blind, is still stuck in Amsterdam until mid-2024.
