Yorbe Vertessen's lawyer, Wouter Janssens, is not satisfied with PSV's actions. Vertessen is in Berlin, where he hopes to complete his transfer to FC Union Berlin as soon as possible. However, PSV struggles at the last minute due to Noa Lang's injury, to the frustration of Vertessen and Janssens.

PSV gave Vertessen permission to travel to Germany last week. His medical examination has now been completed and only the last signature from Eindhoven is still missing. Yet the deal is suddenly in jeopardy: now that Lang is out of action for several weeks with a hamstring injury, PSV would prefer to keep the lightning-fast Vertessen.

“The transfer has long been complete. However, PSV refuses to sign the final contract and that is unacceptable. What is happening here?” Janssens expresses his dissatisfaction with the Algemeen Dagblad. Although a departure from Vertessen could earn the Eindhoven team 6 million euros (4.75 million euros fixed), trainer Peter Bosz thinks that he can still be of value given Lang's injury.

“That is very unfortunate for Noa and for PSV, absolutely, but Yorbe has been approved to travel and the transfer here is perfect. Blaming him for this is not part of the PSV club. Yorbe has almost fifteen years of loyal service. Have you always been available in recent weeks and everything went exactly as agreed.”

PSV and Vertessen previously agreed that the attacker could leave after the matches against FC Twente, FC Utrecht, Feyenoord and Almere City FC earlier this month. Now transfer deadline day is approaching, a transfer may not happen after all. PSV first wants to secure a new attacker and has chosen Couhaib Driouech from Excelsior. However, the negotiations between the Kralingers and the Eindhoven residents are currently 'at a stalemate'.

“He kept those agreements and he still did his thing, against FC Twente for example,” Janssens refers to Vertessen's opening goal against the Tukkers. “No, this is not a course of action.” As far as Janssens is concerned, a return to Eindhoven is out of the question. “We are in Berlin and will stay there.”

Previously, Rik Elfrink also left it Eindhovens Dagblad shine his light on the situation. “Vertessen is disappointed because PSV does not want to give him a safe conduct. He is now missing training sessions that are necessary to join Union Berlin and stay fit. If PSV actually recalls him for the second half of the season in the Eredivisie, he will return broken,” said Elfrink.

Vertessen has a contract with PSV until mid-2025, to which the club can still legally keep him. After all, the Eindhoven residents have not yet signed the final signature on the sales contract. Vertessen went through PSV's youth academy and made his debut in the main squad in February 2021. In the past 3 years he has played 102 matches on behalf of the leader in all competitions.
