Although PSV still shared the lead with AS Monaco in Group B after the second round in the Europa League, things look completely different for the Eindhoven team after a defeat at home. Monaco and Real Sociedad are respectively seven and five points above PSV. With a win it can suddenly look very different and so Roger Schmidt’s team goes full for the victory over Monaco. It can draw confidence from last weekend’s matches against FC Twente, in which it looked at a draw for a long time, and the recent form in European matches. Together with TOTO we look forward to the important away game.

PSV is not playing in the Europa League for the first time. In fact, the people of Eindhoven compete for the highest number of won away matches in the Europa League. Only Villarreal and RB Salzburg have won more matches in the league than PSV since the competition was founded. In addition, Roger Schmidt’s squad seems to be picking up steam in terms of goal production. PSV have scored in the last ten European away matches, equaling the longest series ever (previously also 10 between 1996 and 1999). On the other hand, PSV has only kept a clean sheet in 5 of the last 24 away matches on European grounds.

Do you expect another goal for PSV, but will they also concede a goal? Bet here on ‘both teams will score’.

Although PSV has regularly struggled to win a victory at home at European level this season, it seems to have no problem with that outside the home. This season, it won three of four European matches away from home. Only a visit to Benfica was lost, while PSV then scored just as many goals as the Portuguese. PSV also visited AS Monaco in Europe twice before. PSV came out of the battle in the Principality in 2003 and 2005 with a draw and a victory. Over those two matches, PSV conceded only one goal in total.

Carlos Vinícius started with difficulty at PSV, but is slowly becoming more and more important for the Eindhoven team. Where he was previously involved in two goals as a principal, he now also has two goals in the net. In fact, he was directly involved in four of PSV’s last six goals in all competitions. The Brazilian striker is also not unknown to score in the Europa League. The 26-year-old sharpshooter scored six goals in nine matches for Tottenham Hotspur in his previous season in Europe. These six goals also came in his last five European matches for the English. It is therefore not the first time that the rush hour is getting up to speed. Now that he also seems to have put his sights on PSV, there may well be another goal for ‘V95’.

Will Carlos Vinicius get another chance to score in the Europa League, or do you think another player will score? Bet live on a goalscorer for this game here.
