Marciano Vink praises Johan Bakayoko during halftime of the Ajax – PSV match (1-1 score). The analyst of ESPN thinks the PSV right winger is the biggest danger on the Eindhoven side. According to Vink, it is no coincidence that Devyne Rensch, Bakayoko's opponent, dropped out injured.

Bakayoko is a constant pest for Ajax with his dribbling from the right flank. In advance, Ajax coach John van 't Schip hoped that Rensch, with his favorite right leg, would have an advantage in defending the left-footed Bakayoko. In practice, little came of this, as Bakayoko passed by again and again in the first half.

“Rensch went all out against Bakayoko, which is what you have to do, because Bakayoko is so good,” says Vink. “If he really wants to, then he is almost impossible to keep. Rensch really needed arms and feet.”

Rensch suffered an injury soon in the first half. The occasional left back tried for a while, but was replaced by Borna Sosa soon after Steven Berghuis's 1-0. “I think: if you are so fiercely involved in a battle at a certain point, then you can also encounter an injury,” said Vink.

Vink is a big fan of Bakayoko. “Bakayoko is terribly good. When he really wants to… You also have matches where you think: Come on man! But if he really wants it, then he can't be kept.”

Tommie van der Leegte, former midfielder of PSV, among others, has an additional point of criticism. “He goes too fast and too often for his own success,” says Van der Leegte.
