Fabio Paratici was officially waved off by Juventus on Friday afternoon after eleven years of loyal service. During the farewell, the outgoing sports director looked back on his years at La Vecchia Signora. President Andrea Agnelli praises Paratici’s transfer work, although there have been disappointments at times. Juventus were close to signing Robin van Persie in 2012. However, the now retired attacker exchanged Arsenal for Manchester United at the time.

“I think of all those players that Fabio has managed to bring to Juventus. I will highlight three: Carlos Tevez, Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo. What do I regret most? Van Persie”, Agnelli answers his own question . The Juventus president takes advantage of the goodbye ceremony to thank Paratici for his work on a technical level. “In the end it has been 11 great years. Fabio can talk about football for hours, but you still listen to him. He came in here as a boy and leaves a man.”

Paratici has already been named as the new technical director of Tottenham Hotspur, which has also been linked with Antonio Conte who left Internazionale. However, the outgoing director does not want to comment on his future plans on Friday. “This is not the right time to talk about that. Although I have to say that my family hopes that I will find a new challenge very soon,” said Paratici.
