Ralf Seuntjens apologizes to Bas Nijhuis on NAC Breda’s Instagram account. The 32-year-old striker of the club was furious on Monday evening after the lost match against FC Volendam (1-0) at the referee, who rejected a goal from him. Seuntjens regrets the things he said in front of the camera of ESPN.
“Yesterday in the emotion I called things that I should not have said,” Seuntjens said on Tuesday. “I still think it’s a clean goal, but we’re not going to agree on that. My apologies for my language. I hope we can just draw a line under it now. On to Friday, then we shake each other in the continue the hand again. Seuntjens dropped a high ball on his head about six meters from the goal, while FC Volendam goalkeeper Filip Stankovic missed. Although Seuntjens hardly seemed to blame, Nijhuis disallowed the goal. “It happened outside five meters, then you can start the duel,” Seuntjens said on Monday. “I don’t even jump. I don’t actually do anything. I stand, he falls on my head and he invades. You can’t argue, if you talk you get yellow. It’s just one dirty trick.”
Nijhuis stuck to his decision afterwards. “Seuntjens looks at the goalkeeper and unbalances the goalkeeper.
