The selection of Morocco may soon be awaiting a significant injection of quality. According to L’Equipe wants to convince national coach Walid Regragui Amine Adli, Brahim Díaz, Sofiane Diop, Eliesse Ben Seghir and Mohamed-Ali Cho to come out for the Lions of the Atlas. Regragui would like to have more options to choose from.

Díaz (23) in particular has proven himself on the highest podium. The winger is rented out by Real Madrid to AC Milan and is a basic player under coach Stefano Pioli. Díaz played once for Spain, the country where he was born, but because it was a practice match, he can still opt for an international career with Morocco. Díaz has a Spanish mother and a Moroccan father. In addition to French nationality, Adli (23) also has Moroccan nationality and is therefore also an option for Regragui. The Bayer Leverkusen winger has made six appearances for France Under 21 to date.

Like Adli, Ben Seghir also has French and Moroccan nationality. The only eighteen-year-old AS Monaco attacking midfielder is making his breakthrough in Ligue 1 this season and has so far scored four goals and an assist in seventeen games. He made one appearance for France Under 19. Next on the list is 19-year-old Cho, who made 19 appearances for Real Sociedad this season. He did not score, although he was good for two assists. Cho played for England youth teams until 2016, but most recently played for France Under 21. He has an Ivorian father and a Moroccan mother, but moved to England when he was one week old.

Finally, Regragui also thinks of Diop (22) from OGC Nice, although it seems more likely that he will play for Senegal. However, the French-born left winger, who has scored two goals and four assists in Ligue 1 this season, has not yet made his final choice. He is expected to announce his decision after the European Under 21 Championship, which will take place this summer. Regragui wants to have more breadth in his selection, in order to be successful after the 2022 World Cup. To the surprise of many, Morocco reached the semi-finals in Qatar. France turned out to be too strong 2-0.
