Vitesse is considering selling Million Manhoef, reports Jeroen Kapteijns The Telegraph. The fact that the Arnhem team is considering a departure for their star striker has everything to do with the dire financial situation at the club.

Vitesse urgently needs money to finance its operations. According to Kapteijns, Vitesse is considering selling Manhoef with an offer of three million euros or more. It would be a sporting loss for the club, which is last in the Eredivisie after eighteen rounds.

Manhoef was the big man for the Gelderlanders last season in particular. The 22-year-old right winger from Beemster then scored nine goals and five assists. This year the counter currently stands at four goals and zero assists in the Eredivisie.

Clubs from Italy and Spain have now shown interest in Manhoef, who will remain in GelreDome until mid-2025. According to Kapteijns, a club from Serie A and two clubs from Serie B are interested in collaborating with Manhoef.

Last summer, Manhoef was still in the concrete interest of Hellas Verona, but a deal did not materialize at the time. This winter, Hellas struck in the Eredivisie after all, by acquiring Tijjani Noslin from Fortuna Sittard for three million euros.

A possible transfer of Manhoef is 'spicy', as described the Stentor the situation. Trainer Edward Sturing and technical director Benjamin Schmedes strongly opposed a transfer earlier this summer, but given the financial distress in Arnhem, the club may still be forced to sell.

To complete this year in the Eredivisie, Vitesse needs at least five million euros. A new loan from Coley Parry, the intended new owner of Vitesse, has only increased the debt burden. The American has already advanced 12 million euros in the past year and a half. A transfer from Manhoef could offer some solution.
