Vitesse has strengthened itself with Saïd Hamulic, the Arnhemmers announced through the official channels. The born Leiderdorper, who plays his international matches for Bosnia and Herzegovina, is rented from Toulouse for a season. Vitesse managed to get an option to buy during the negotiations with the French cup winner.

Hamulic, the child of Bosnian parents, started his career in the Netherlands with the youth teams of Alphense Boys, Go Ahead Eagles and Quick Boys. A breakthrough in his native country was not immediately possible, so he opted for a transfer to the Lithuanian DFK Dainava. After rental periods to the Bulgarian Botev Plovdiv, the Lithuanian FK Suduva and the Polish Stal Mielec, the latter team decided to take him over in January 2023. That same transfer period grabbed Toulouse, which deposited 2.5 million euros for the now two-time Bosnian international.

However, the striker was hardly used in Toulouse. The 22-year-old central attacker annex striker was not once at the kick-off in Ligue 1 or Coupe de France. Given the presence of Thijs Dallinga, among others, who scored eighteen times in both competitions, that was not entirely surprising. Hamulic eventually led to nine matches Les Violets, in which he failed to score or provide an assist. He did experience the win of the Coupe de France up close, although he did not get any playing minutes in the final against FC Nantes (1-5). Hamulic hopes to develop further at Vitesse. “I immediately had a good feeling about Vitesse and thanks to the pleasant conversations, that feeling has only become stronger.”

Hamulic tells the club website that he is happy to be back in the Netherlands. “After a number of years abroad, this feels like the right time to show myself in the Eredivisie. I hope to develop myself further at Vitesse and to be of value to the team with goals and assists.” Vitesse is having an excellent day, as it was previously announced that Kacper Kozlowski will be retained for the club for longer. The nineteen-year-old Pole is rented from Brighton & Hove Albion for the second season in a row, where the midfielder is under contract until mid-2026. In his first season in Arnhem, he scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 30 games.
