Vitesse has completed the technical staff for next season, the club from Arnhem announced on Saturday via the official channels. The trio of Dick Schreuder, Edwin Zoetebier and Marink Reedijk will assist head coach Thomas Letsch in GelreDome. Schreuder, Alfred Schreuder’s brother, is the new assistant coach and thus the successor of Joseph Oosting. The latter is the new head coach of RKC Waalwijk.

Schreuder, 49, was active as a player for PSV, FC Groningen, Stoke City and Go Ahead Eagles. After four years of training VV Katwijk, he chose to become an assistant coach at Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer in the United States. In 2019 he was an assistant to his brother Alfred at TSG Hoffenheim. The latter is now an assistant coach at Barcelona.

With Zoetebier, Vitesse gets an old acquaintance as a goalkeeper coach. The former goalkeeper was under the bar with the Arnhem team in the 2000/01 season. In total he kept more than 350 competition matches in the Netherlands for FC Volendam, Vitesse, Feyenoord, PSV and NAC Breda. After his active career he worked as a goalkeeper coach at FC Volendam. Sweet beer succeeds Rein Baart.

The third new member of the staff is 29-year-old Reedijk. He will be responsible for the standard situations, among other things. He was previously active as a youth coach at Ajax, West Bromwich and KSV Roeselare. In England he obtained his PhD in Sports Coaching.

“By recruiting these three staff members, we once again have the right expertise and competences”, assures technical director Johannes Spors. “They are also people who are highly motivated to work for Vitesse and who have the character that suits us. I’m pleased that I was able to convince them to make the step to Arnhem.”
