Oussama Tannane and Vitesse are on a collision course, writes the Gelderlander Thursday morning. Trainer Thomas Letsch decided to put the attacking midfielder out of the selection for the matches against Stade Rennes and Feyenoord. The question is whether Tannane will return to Vitesse after that, because the Gelderlander states that a definitive break ‘is available’.

This would mean that Tannane’s contract with Vitesse, which is still running until mid-2022, would be terminated immediately. Letsch said on Wednesday that he will see Tannane again on Monday, but relations are “seriously disturbed”. The Gelderlander writes that Tannane has a “whimsical character,” which causes him to become “moody” when he lacks appreciation. The regional daily adds that he has displayed a ‘lack of fitness’ in preparation and has been criticized for his ‘motivation and discipline’.

All in all, it makes Tannane unsuitable for Vitesse’s bank. But because the attacking midfielder actually wanted to make a transfer last summer, Letsch has formed a starting team without Tannane. With Yann Gboho hired from Stade Rennes, Vitesse has already brought in a replacement for Tannane and he is usually preferred. For the time being, Tannane has played seven official games this season, three of which as a starting player.

“I don’t want to go into detail, but a lot has happened,” he wrote the Gelderlander up from the mouth of Latvian. The German trainer blames himself for not ‘got Tannane working’. Despite the approaching Conference League game against Stade Rennes, this was the right time to intervene, says Letsch. “I hope Vitesse is on fire against Rennes. Everyone is aware of the importance of this match.”
