Latest update:

Pelle van Amersfoort can continue his career in the Middle East. Football International reports that sc Heerenveen is in talks with a club from the United Arab Emirates about a possible transfer. It is said to be Sharjah FC, number four of the past UAE Pro League season.

It was known that Van Amersfoort was allowed to leave Heerenveen. The 28-year-old attacker, who became the club's top scorer with ten goals last season, wanted to avoid leaving on a free transfer again, just like five years ago.

Then the Heemskerker moved to the Polish Cracovia on a free transfer after his first period in Heerenveen's service. Now, with a one-year contract left, he is facing a presumably more lucrative transfer.

Apparently it is Sharjah FC that has reported to Friesland for Van Amersfoort. The right-footed player could become a teammate in the Emirates of Miralem Pjanic, who distributes the game for Sharjah.

It is unknown what the club from the Gulf state is prepared to pay for Van Amersfoort. According to Transfer market he represents a transfer value of one and a half million euros.

This would end Van Amersfoort's second period at the Abe Lenstra Stadium. After four years at Cracovia, the right-footer settled in the south of Friesland for the second time at the beginning of 2023.

Since then, Van Amersfoort has scored 17 goals and provided two assists in 56 matches across all competitions. In his first spell, he produced 11 goals and ten assists in 103 appearances.
