Louis van Gaal is willing to become Ajax’s crisis manager under certain conditions. Valentijn Driessen wrote this in on Thursday evening The Telegraph. If his health allows it and he manages to gather the right people, Van Gaal would be willing to help, Driessen has heard. The head footballer of The Telegraph greatly encourages the plan.

Johan Derksen already suggested Van Gaal as crisis manager in Amsterdam on Wednesday evening. Driessen now reports that that idea is realistic. “The supervisory board, led by the failing chairman Pier Eringa, has no choice but to kneel down in the Algarve or Noordwijk and hand over the keys to the record national champion to Ajax icon Van Gaal. If, as a supervisory board, you already have your club extradited to someone, then a hundred times better to the proven technical professional and Ajax player Van Gaal than to a German charlatan called Sven Mislintat,” the journalist pleads.

Driessen thinks Van Gaal is ‘cut from a different cloth’ than, for example, Marco van Basten. The latter, also an Ajax icon, must pay the price. “Van Basten has also been called inappropriately for various positions and has also been approached from Ajax. The former top scorer does not want any polonaise on his body, waves everything away, insults everything and everyone at Ajax as an analyst, but when it comes to he never hesitates to take responsibility.”
