It seems that Xavi Simons will continue his career at Rangers. The eighteen-year-old midfielder of Paris Saint-Germain will run out of his contract in the French capital next summer and has not yet agreed a new contract with the club. Pablo Torre is also labeled as an important transfer target at Rangers.

According to reports from the Daily Record leads Rangers in battle for Simons’ autograph. There has been uncertainty over the young midfielder’s future for some time as he and his agent Mino Raiola have been unable to reach an agreement with PSG on a new contract. Due to his expiring contract, Simons is free to talk to interested clubs from January. ASH know that Rangers has already made first contact with Raiola. Van Bronckhorst has indicated that he wants to bring Simons to Glasgow personally.

During this season Simons was only on the bench a few times and has to mainly couples with appearances in the Under 19s, as PSG does not have a U23 team. He did, however, participate for ninety minutes in the 0-3 cup match against SC Feignies on December 19. Simons and other talents of the French superpower are said to feel ‘cheated’, because promises had been made at PSG about more playing time in the main force.

Rangers would also be very interested in Pablo Torre in addition to Simons. The eighteen-year-old midfielder impresses at Racing Santander at the third level in Spain. Torre still has a contract with Santander until mid-2025, but can be sold with a good offer due to financial difficulties. Real Madrid and Serie A clubs have also expressed their interest in the Spaniard.
