Valentijn Driessen thinks it’s ridiculous that Hans Kraay junior wants to pay the fine for Amin. The journalist of The Telegraph feels that Kraay junior is sending the wrong signal with his offer to assist Amin. The thirteen-year-old boy was fined 100 euros for entering the field during the Netherlands – Montenegro (4-0) last Saturday.

“I liked it”, said Kraay junior Tuesday evening in the studio of ESPN. “I liked it in Lille with Hakim Ziyech, how Ziyech did and how that boy was so happy,” the analyst referred to the Ajax away match in November 2019 at Lille OSC. That evening, young Yassine ran to Ziyech for a hug. “That boy had won the Lotto, and this boy also won the Lotto,” said Kraay junior. “Depay did a fantastic job. Call me, I’ll pay the hundred euros for this boy. I loved it.”

Driessen does not agree with that at all. “Ridiculous. What is this about?”, the journalist responds in a video item for his newspaper. “He does something that is not allowed and is not allowed, and that is in fact justified because Hans is going to lay down that fine of 100 euros. Ridiculous. I also have one of them sitting at home for 13 years, he knows very well what they can and cannot do do, and what can and cannot be done. What is this about?”

Amin’s action on Saturday in the World Cup qualifier between the Dutch and Montenegro (4-0) went around the world. The boy succeeded in his goal of taking a selfie with Depay and afterwards received a lot of media attention. Nevertheless, the KNVB imposed a penalty on Amin. Due to his age, the fine was reduced from the standard amount of 450 euros to 100 euros. The five-year stadium ban was added to that, although that can be reduced to fifteen months under certain conditions.
