Václav Cerny also seems to want to play for FC Twente next season. On Instagram, the Czech winger, recovering from a serious knee injury, posted a message in which he thanked the supporters of Twente for their support during his rehabilitation. “I’m going to give that back to you. see you soon”, says Cerny, who seems to indicate his preference for next season.

“Tuckers, four months on the road,” Cerny writes on Instagram. “Every day I think about the day I’ll be there again. It’s a long road, but the comeback is getting closer. Hard work is always rewarded. You give me the strength to come out of this very strong. I’m going to give that back to you. see you soon”, concludes the attacker. Supporters of Twente react with hope under the message to a longer stay.

Cerny, 23, has been recovering from a cruciate ligament injury for months. Before he got injured, he was good for six goals and six assists in sixteen Eredivisie games on behalf of the Tukkers. At an earlier stage, both parties expressed the wish to continue together for longer. At the time, a new rental deal was being considered, but Twente is now in talks with FC Utrecht to take over Cerny definitively. The Czech’s contract in the Domstad continues for another year. The contract includes an option for another year. “There is a risk to that, because we don’t know when he will be fit again. But we take that risk because we think Václav is an important and attractive player. He’s a real crowd pleaser,” Streuer said last week TC Tubantia.

FC Twente is busy putting together the selection for next season. The Enschede club previously took over goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall from PSV on a free transfer, and Virgil Misidjan is also virtually inside. The 27-year-old wing striker has an expiring contract with PEC Zwolle and is close to an agreement with the Tukkers, the regional daily reported Monday evening. FC Twente expects to be able to complete the transition this week. Previously Swansea City and Reading were in the market for Misidjan. Negotiations on Cerny are also ongoing. “That looks good,” said Streuer.
