Vaclav Cerny is almost certain to leave VfL Wolfsburg on loan. According to the Scottish branch of Sky Rangers FC is very close to the arrival of the Czech striker, who played for FC Twente last season. Cerny transferred to Wolfsburg the following summer for a million dollar sum. The marriage has not been an unqualified success so far.

In the 2022/23 season, Cerny had the Enschede public on their benches almost every week with his flights on the right. It earned him a nice transfer, involving a transfer fee of around eight million euros.

In Germany, however, it is a matter of trial and error. As last season progressed, Cerny became a substitute more and more often, and that role is also in the offing next year.

That is why the 26-year-old attacker decides to seek his fortune in Scotland at Rangers, last season's number two. According to Sky Scotland negotiations are at an advanced stage. Cerny will soon join Cyriel Dessers, Danilo and Sam Lammers, who also have an Eredivisie past. Incidentally, Lammers seems to be on his way to FC Twente.

The Enschede players are eagerly looking for a striker to go with Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who is already getting on in years. Wout Weghorst was the ideal candidate, but was deemed too expensive. Twente sees Lammers as a more feasible asset. The Tilburg player, who scored eleven goals in twenty league matches for FC Utrecht last year, represents, according to Transfer market a market value of five million euros.

Lammers will probably not have much to do with Cerny. The Czech player who played in the European Championship in Wolfsburg played 25 matches in all competitions in his debut year. Cerny produced five goals and one assist. In addition to FC Twente, the left-footer also played for Ajax and FC Utrecht in the Netherlands.
