Rafael van der Vaart sees Ruud van Nistelrooij as an ideal successor to John van 't Schip, as he said on Sunday evening during the broadcast of Studio Football of the NOS. At the same time, Arno Vermeulen thinks that Thomas Tuchel, who will leave Bayern Munich after this season, is the ideal trainer for Ajax.

“It's not actually about the coach, it's about the players,” says Van der Vaart, who is disappointed with Ajax's performance and thinks out loud about a solution. “You actually have to sell them all. There are just twenty players that you think: what can you do with them?

“What I hear: Frank de Boer. That's the first one that everyone thinks: that's great. But I've spoken to people and it seems that Van Nistelrooij is a really good field coach. Then a Van Nistelrooij for the group.â€

“I want Ajax to have a big name in front of the group. I heard Ron Jans fall, but no. A big name must be at Ajax. “I have just spoken to people who really say that Van Nistelrooij is a good field coach,” said Van der Vaart.

Arno Vermeulen points to Thomas Tuchel

Vermeulen, also present in the studio, would like to see a foreign trainer at Ajax: Tuchel. The coach recently announced that he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of this season and Vermeulen believes he should go to Ajax.

“Tuchel has a huge fondness for the Netherlands. He always went to Amsterdam on weekends. He has won everything and I find him interesting for Ajax. Is it realistic from a financial point of view?

“It doesn't matter. It's a matter of wanting. That man made so much money in London and Paris. My feeling is that he is interested in the coaching job at Ajax,' concludes Vermeulen.
