Terence Kongolo will start at Le Havre, which plays in the Ligue 2. The 28-year-old defender is on loan from Fulham for one season. Five years ago, Kongolo exchanged Feyenoord after the championship for an amount of fifteen million euros for AS Monaco. Since then, the 28-year-old defender has always struggled to stay fit. The once promising defender continues to struggle with injuries.

At the beginning of July it reported General Newspaper that Kongolo would be on a list at Feyenoord, Vitesse and FC Utrecht. The left-footed central defender, who can also play at left back, saw a lot in a return to the Netherlands. In the end it didn’t work out. Kongolo has a contract with Fulham until mid-2024, but manager Marco Silva will not need him this season. At Le Havre, the Dutchman has to get fit again.

Kongolo has been under contract with the Londoners since October 2020. At the time, the club paid more than four million euros to Huddersfield for his services. A pittance compared to the twenty million that Huddersfield paid to AS Monaco in 2018. In total, Kongolo played only four official matches in Fulham’s main squad.

In the past season, the defender only made six appearances for the U23 team in the Premier League 2. Kongolo had suffered from injuries to his knee, ankle, Achilles tendon, foot and several muscles in recent seasons. Fulham were also willing to sell Kongolo permanently, but few clubs were interested in that. Reportedly, the left leg also had options in Turkey.
