At the same time, RB Leipzig narrowly won the squatter against SC Freiburg (0-1). Football zone recently headed to Berlin to get a close-up look at Union’s unprecedented success season. FC Augsburg – 1. FC Union Berlin 1-0
Union, with Danilho Doekhi and Sheraldo Becker, was close to the opening goal halfway through the first half. Kevin Behrens, however, had to watch as his header was turned over the post by goalkeeper Tomas Koubek. Augsburg, where Jeffrey Gouweleeuw as captain ran into a yellow card early on, became dangerous just before half-time via a shot from Dion Beljo. Early in the second half it was still a hit for the Croat, who managed to break the spell on a pass from Ruben Vargas: 1-0. Union failed to pull a point out of the fire in the remainder of the game.

SC Freiburg – RB Leipzig 0-1
The home team was released with a fright within five minutes, after Timo Werner hit the post. Leipzig had the better of the game in the first company, but was unable to express the field dominance directly in the score. Those Roten Bulls finally took the game in the 73rd minute. Substitute Kevin Kampl became the match winner in the 73rd minute by outwitting goalkeeper Mark Flek with a shot into the right corner: 0-1.

Other results:
Hertha Berlin – VfB Stuttgart 2-1
TSG Hoffenheim – Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1
Borussia Monchengladbach – VfL Bochum 2-0
