In 2023, social media will be a cornerstone of society. Top players such as Lionel Messi, Memphis Depay and Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as clubs from home and abroad, give (almost) daily insight into the ins and outs via Instagram, Twitter or other internet channels. Special football moments also travel across the planet at lightning speed. Football zone lists the craziest, most beautiful and most striking posts on social media in the section VZ Social.

Ramon Hendriks has responded via Instagram to the injury he sustained on Friday evening during the game between FC Groningen and FC Utrecht (1-2). The 21-year-old Feyenoord mercenary recently returned to the field at the Domstedelingen after an injury of more than eight months, but fate seemed to strike again on Friday evening. Images showed how he was replaced with tears by Mark van der Maarel. However, Hendriks is hopeful on social media.

The talented left leg had to deal with a serious cruciate ligament injury earlier this season, but is keeping his spirits up. “Life is full of unexpected moments, but this is just another challenge to take on. With the right mindset and commitment I will be back on the field as soon as possible.” What Hendriks is currently struggling with remains to be seen. Utrecht and Feyenoord have not yet communicated about the injury. The Domstedelingen have included an option to buy in the lease, with Feyenoord having a repurchase option.
