Valencia seems to have little faith in Jasper Cillessen anymore. Los Che are working hard on the arrival of Ugurcan Çakir, reports Sabah Sporo. The 25-year-old goalkeeper of Trabzonspor, who was active at the European Championship with Turkey, must come over for a total of seventeen million euros. Both parties are still negotiating over the exact terms.

Trabzonspor has rejected the first offer from Valencia, it sounds like. The Spanish club first wanted to rent Çakir for five million euros, with an option to buy twelve million euros. That option is automatically triggered if two conditions are met: Çakir will play more than 25 games this season and Valencia manages to qualify for the Champions League.

That means Valencia should finish in the top four places. Given the fierce competition in Spain and last season, in which the club only finished thirteenth in LaLiga, that chance does not seem very great. Trabzonspor therefore wants to get rid of the conditions and demands a mandatory option to buy. Both clubs seem to agree on the amounts. At Valencia, Cillessen suffered a muscle injury in the preparation and Jaume Domènech is also injured, which gives the only twenty-year-old Giorgi Mamardashvili the confidence for the time being.

Çakir comes from Trabzonspor’s youth academy and made his official debut for the club in 2015. The goalie has been a fixture in the team for the past three years and since last year he has also been the captain. In total, Çakir is on 119 official matches for Trabzonspor. In the Turkish team it was a matter of changing penny under the bar for a long time, but at the European Championship Çakir got the confidence of national coach Senol Günes. He has played eleven times for Turkey so far.
