Udinese is going to make a new attempt to release Maximiliano Romero from PSV, you know Sky Italy report on Thursday. The 21-year-old attacker was badly injured in the preliminary round of the Europa League against NS Mura last year and did not play on behalf of the Eindhoven team for the remainder of the season. It is the second time that Udinese has expressed his interest in Romero. The same thing happened last year, but that deal was then canceled due to his injury.

It Eindhovens Dagblad adds that the exact details of the transition are still under discussion. There is a chance that Romero will switch to Udinese on a rental basis, with or without a mandatory option to buy. The Argentinian was taken over by PSV from the Argentine Vélez Sarsfield at the end of 2017 for slightly more than ten million euros, but is frequently plagued by serious injuries in Eindhoven. Last season it was quickly over for the unfortunate striker.

Romero suffered a serious knee injury in September in the Europa League match that was won 1-5 with the Slovenian NS Mura. After six and a half minutes, Romero became involved in a duel for the ball in the penalty area. He then went to the grass, felt his left knee and was treated on the field by doctors. The attack leader had to go under the knife, went through months of rehabilitation and did not play for PSV for the rest of the season. His first year and a half in the service of PSV also fell into the water due to an upper leg and knee injury

In addition to Udinese, Romero also had the opportunity to go to Red Bull New York last year, but that transition also ended at the last minute. The Argentinian apparently started the season as the first striker last season, but was replaced by Eran Zahavi after his injury. Romero’s contract in Eindhoven will continue until mid-2023.
