FC Dordrecht presented a new investor on Tuesday: Baris Hocaoglu. The Turkish businessman heads an investment company called Sporttz, which deals with real estate, media, entertainment, finance and sports. Sporttz acquires 24.9 percent of the shares in the club from the Kitchen Champion Division and that will eventually increase to 80 percent.

Hans de Zeeuw, general manager of FC Dordrecht, had conversations with Hocaoglu for months and the Turk was ultimately the chosen one among the thirteen parties with an interest in investing in the South Holland club. The KNVB does not have to approve a minority share of 24.9 percent. That is only the case with a share of 25 percent or higher.

According to De Zeeuw, Hocaoglu wants FC Dordrecht to become a stable Eredivisie club in the long term. “But he is not a man who says that, for example, we should be in the premier league in two years ‘time or in the Champions League in five years’ time,” explained De Zeeuw. RTV Rijnmond. “He is nuanced in that. We have to expand everything step by step. ”

With the arrival of Hocaoglu, the club’s continuity seems to be guaranteed for the coming years. For the coming season, this means that the player budget will grow above one million euros. That is currently about half.

FC Dordrecht wants to invest in the youth academy, the office department and money will also be available for improvements in and around the stadium. Hocaoglu wants to make an effort in the long run for the arrival of a new stadium. The last player, who will finish the last league game of the season against NEC on Wednesday, is currently looking for a new technical manager and will then start a search for a new head coach.
