Bryan Zaragoza probably imagined his first months as a Bayern Munich player very differently. The winter acquisition was left out of the selection against SV Darmstadt (5-2 win) and apparently has never even spoken to trainer Thomas Tuchel, writes Marcos Benito on behalf of El Chiringuito TV.

Benito's revelation follows after Zaragoza suddenly did not appear on the scoresheet last weekend. The 22-year-old winger, who has come on twice since arriving from Granada, was not needed.

Because Tuchel only has four players left in the squad with Kingsley Coman, Bouna Sarr, Noussair Mazraoui and Tarek Buchmann, he had to disappoint another player in addition to Daniel Peretz. That became Zaragoza.

That decision is striking, as Bayern moved heaven and earth to bring the young Spaniard to the Allianz Arena in the winter. An additional 5 million euros was paid to have him immediately available.

Zaragoza was supposed to switch to Bayern in the summer for 13 million euros, but injuries to Serge Gnabry and Coman accelerated the deal. However, Zaragoza has only been in action for 35 minutes so far.

Benito reports that Tuchel has not even bothered to talk to Zaragoza. BILD writes that Bayern refuses to respond to questions on the subject.

Tuchel recently explained why Zaragoza has only taken limited action so far. “First of all, Bryan doesn't know the language. It's difficult to communicate with someone who can't speak German and English.”

“It was immediately clear to me that the step was very big,” Tuchel continues. “We feel that now too. We see his qualities, but notice that the integration is not yet complete from a linguistic perspective.”
