Tristan Gooijer has signed his first professional contract with Ajax, the team from Amsterdam announces through the official channels. The sixteen-year-old center defender has signed a three-year contract, which links him to Ajax until mid-2024. Gooijer, international for the the Dutch Under-16, will play his matches in the Under-18 of Ajax next season.

Gooijer started his career with the amateurs of FC Almere and Forza Almere, before joining the Almere City youth academy in 2014. After having played for two years at the Keuken Kampioen Divisie club, Ajax was on the doorstep and made the switch to Amsterdam. In the past season, Gooijer played in the Under-17 of Ajax, but in the coming year he will complete his matches in the Under-18.

At the same time, Ajax says goodbye to Ischa Bouwman, who announces via Instagram that he will make the switch to PEC Zwolle. The eighteen-year-old goalkeeper, who came over from Go Ahead Eagles a year ago and was previously active in the AZ youth academy, played in the Under-18s last season, but sees little prospect in Young Ajax due to competition from Jay Gorter, Calvin Raatsie and Charlie Setford. As a result, he prefers a switch to PEC Zwolle over Jong Ajax.
