The upcoming transfer of Robin Pröpper to FC Twente has caused bad blood among the supporters of Heracles Almelo. The captain is about to make the transfer-free transfer from Almelo to the arch-rival, something the defender is not grateful for by supporters association Vak’74. The fanatical supporters via Facebook are dissatisfied with the state of affairs. “We are now looking forward to the moment when you will step off the field crying again,” the fans refer to the serious knee injury that Pröpper sustained in 2018.

Pröpper decided not to extend his expiring contract with Heracles in the hope of finding a new challenge and can, among other things, have a higher salary at FC Twente. “For the money?”, the above-mentioned supporters’ association first wonders. “We all know that club love among players almost no longer exists. It is painful that Heracles is sometimes only seen as an intermediate step. But there is always a player with a good factor. Someone who does a lot for the club, is the face of it.” team and has the chance to make a full recovery despite a serious injury. A player everyone has to deal with when he walks off the field crying to an apparently new injury.”

Pröpper suffered a serious knee injury in September 2018 in the away game against sc Heerenveen and was out of circulation for almost a year. “You wish a boy like that a lot. Worked hard, fought, not always perfect, but he does have a heart for the club,” the story continues. “A choice to fill your pockets, we understand. We wish you success then, thank you for everything and we hope to see you again at our club. We wish you a lot in this special case. Much that we would not wish if you had chosen for a beautiful club abroad. We are now looking forward to the moment when you step off the field crying again,” concludes the supporters group.

TC Tubantia was able to report on Wednesday that Pröpper is as good as finished with FC Twente about a transition. The defender will undergo his medical examination on Thursday and will then sign his contract when the last folds have been ironed out. The departure of Pröpper is a big laugh for Heracles, who would like to see his strong holder stay longer in Almelo. Pröpper had been under contract with the Almeloërs since the summer of 2016 and grew into captain and a permanent face of the club.
