The soap opera surrounding Couhaib Driouech finally seems to be nearing its end. According to Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad the wing attacker is on his way to PSV after all. Earlier in the evening, Feyenoord already dropped out of the battle for the signature of the wing attacker.

“PSV still seems to be on its way to finalizing a deal with Driouech,” Elfrink writes X. “The club has now also mobilized its own media team.”

On images of ESPN it can also be seen that the PSV club photographer arrives at De Herdgang sports park. Everything indicates that Driouech's transfer to PSV is complete.

Feyenoord seemed to throw a spanner in the works. The Rotterdam team would also have put the offer of more than four million euros that PSV also put on the table. But a few hours later it turned out that the national champion had pulled the plug on the negotiations due to financial considerations.

This left only PSV in the battle for the wing attacker. However, it was still very questionable whether the transfer would go ahead. Excelsior would definitely want to find a replacement before letting Driouech go.

For this purpose it would like to hire Leo Sauer from Feyenoord. Whether that will indeed happen remains to be seen. In any case, Excelsior receives a record sum for its wing attacker with more than four million euros.

It will be a small race against time for PSV to get all the paperwork in order. The deadline closes at 11:59 PM and all wrinkles must be ironed out by then. “The deal still has to be completed,” Elfrink warns. “There are still hurdles to overcome.”
