Tottenham Hotspur is working with Sevilla on the last phase of a spectacular exchange deal, reports Fabrizio Romano, among others. Erik Lamela will make the switch to Andalusia, while Bryan Gil will take the opposite route to London. Tottenham also pays 25 million euros excluding bonuses.

In this way, Sevilla will earn a lot from the twenty-year-old Gil, who has only played 21 official games in the main force. The left-footed winger, who can play on both flanks, made a good impression on a rental basis at Eibar last season. In the Basque Country, Gil made 29 official games, producing 4 goals as well as assists. It earned him a place in the Olympic selection of Spain.

With the 29-year-old Lamela, Sevilla regains an experienced strength. The Argentinian was acquired by Tottenham in 2013 for thirty million euros from AS Roma. Lamela’s stay in London was a mixed success, partly due to some serious injuries. The winger was assured of a starting spot in some seasons, but had to make do with substitutes in the past year. In total, Lamela played 257 official games for Tottenham, scoring 37 goals and preparing 47 goals.

Tottenham have also reached an agreement with Atalanta about Pierluigi Gollini, Romano assures. The 26-year-old goalkeeper will be rented until mid-2022, after which the Spurs can hire him for fifteen million euros. The English also have the option to extend the exchange agreement for an extra year. If Gollini plays at least twenty games for Tottenham, the buy option becomes mandatory. The club sees Gollini as a long-term successor to Hugo Lloris, who has only been signed for one year.
