Tottenham Hotspur is not yet ready on the transfer market. Sky Sports reports Thursday that the London club is in talks with Internazionale about the possible arrival of Milan Skriniar. However, the asking price seems to be a major stumbling block for the time being. Inter is reportedly asking at least sixty million euros for the center-back, while Tottenham does not want to go further than thirty million euros.

Steve Hitchen, one of the directors of the Spurs, was already spotted in Milan on Wednesday. It is very likely that the Tottenham driver is in the Italian city for negotiations with the Inter board. Skriniar has been a familiar face in the defense of last season’s number two in Serie A and it doesn’t seem like coach Antonio Conte wants to let him go just like that. The Slovakian stopper was acquired from Sampdoria for thirty million euros in mid-2016. His contract at the Giuseppe Meazza will run for another three years.

According to Sky Sports Tottenham must first sell one or more players, in order to free up budget for attracting Skriniar. Serge Aurier is mentioned as a possible option to sell to another club before the close of the transfer period, on October 5. Spartak Moscow is said to have serious interest, but the right back would rather remain active in a European top competition. Interest from AC Milan earlier this transfer window came to nothing.

Tottenham did business with Real Madrid twice last week, bringing Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilón to North London. Without the pair, Southampton was won impressively on Sunday (2-5). Harry Kane set a record by giving four assists to Heung-Min Son. Nothing like this had happened before in the history of the Premier League. Previously, manager José Mourinho already welcomed Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg and Joe Hart as acquisitions for this season.
