Three clubs from the Eredivisie have tried in vain to contact Christian Eriksen. The 29-year-old midfielder has been without a contract since his contract termination at Internazionale and has already received several offers. PSV also liked to see the Eriksen come, but the Dane reportedly prefers an adventure in the Premier League, report The Limburger and The Telegraph. Bundesliga clubs have also expressed their interest.

Eriksen has nothing to complain about interest anyway. The midfielder, who suffered a cardiac arrest during the last European Championship, was forced to tear his contract at Inter by a defibrillator. The rumor flow quickly started, but that did not yet lead to a new club for the Dane. He showed up at his former employer Odense and the Swiss third division club FC Chiasso, where he kept his condition up with a personal trainer.

The Telegraph reports that PSV has been one of the clubs that has contacted Eriksen about a contract, but that has led to nothing. The Eindhoven team saw two midfielders drop out this winter. Ibrahim Sangaré will play in the Africa Cup with Ivory Coast, while Davy Pröpper suddenly put an end to his career. The people of Eindhoven quickly jumped in by stealing Joey Veerman from Feyenoord’s nose and taking over from sc Heerenveen for about six million euros. It is not known whether the contact between PSV and Eriksen took place before or after Veerman’s transfer.

It is not announced who the other Dutch clubs were interested in Eriksen. The former Ajax player still lives with his family in Milan, but wants to get back to playing football as soon as possible. The midfielder recently set a big an important goal for himself. “I want to play at the World Cup in Qatar,” the 109-times international of Denmark said in an interview at DR1. “I want to play soccer. It’s a goal, a dream. We’ll have to wait and see if I’m called up. But my dream is to return. I’m sure it’s possible, because I don’t feel any different. Physically I am in top shape. Until the World Cup I want to play football and prove that I am at the same level as before.”

Eriksen, who is also followed by Bundesliga clubs, is reportedly aiming for a return to the Premier League. The midfielder left Ajax at the age of 21 and signed a long and lucrative with Tottenham Hotspur, where he enjoyed life in England in addition to football. Brentford, among others, would like to see Eriksen come. The PhD student was led by Danes for many years and already has eight Danes in the ranks, including Mads Bidstrup, Mathias Jensen, Christian Nörgaard, Mads Roerslev Rasmussen, Luka Racic, Zanka, Mads Bech Sörensen and Jonas Lössl. Manager Frank Thomas is also of Danish descent.
