Sean Klaiber made his basic debut for Ajax on Saturday afternoon in the game with no less than 0-13 won with VVV-Venlo. During the record victory, the 26-year-old fullback on the right flank formed a tandem with Antony. In conversation with Ajax Life Klaiber is extremely enthusiastic about the Brazilian attacker, who he describes as ‘gruesome’.

“Antony cannot be stopped one-on-one. Really bizarre! I haven’t insisted on him directly in training, but this man is horrifying in one-on-one. I try to postpone the game for a while and I will certainly not give up in advance, but it will be difficult ”, Klaiber says. Antony, who came over from São Paulo last summer, scored a goal and two assists in Venlo, raising his season total to four goals and two assists in six official Ajax matches.

“Antony is a very friendly boy, who likes to learn and indicates what he wants. He wants the ball. All the time! My job is to feed him as much as possible and bring him into play. When it starts spinning, the team spins too. And I like to bounce over it myself, if possible. For me it is no problem to cover long distances ”, the wing defender who was taken over from FC Utrecht continues. Klaiber states that communication with Antony ‘goes by itself’. “He calls my name, so I just pass. I can always lose the ball, even if there is a man in his back. ”

“It’s in him. It is really enjoyable what I see Antony do, but I also enjoy Daley Blind who comes up as defender and even scores ”, Klaiber emphasizes. He states that ‘everyone within the team has his qualities’. “I come from FC Utrecht and it is especially important that the team is well put together before you can work towards a victory, but at Ajax boys can just decide on their own.”
