Gareth Bale is hired by Tottenham Hotspur from Real Madrid this season. Agent Jonathan Barnett does not rule out the Welshman joining afterwards the Spurs remains. At the same time, the advocate of the 31-year-old attacker does not fail to give a hefty kick to Real Madrid, which paid 101 million euros in 2013 to loosen Bale at Tottenham.

“Yes, there are many possibilities,” Barnett replies talkSPORT when asked whether Bale can still be active at Tottenham next season. His contract with Real Madrid will run until mid-2022. “It’s up to him. Most importantly, he enjoys football and plays well. As long as that’s the case, you’ll be fine. A grown man and knows what he wants in life, Gareth is probably the most successful footballer Britain has ever produced. There are still a lot of things he wants to get done, so we have to wait and see. ”

Barnett confirms that ‘bigger clubs’ than Tottenham were interested in Bale’s services. “It was a very easy choice. He had other options, but he loves Totttenham and this is what he wanted. It is good to see that he is happy. If he moved this summer, it would be somewhere where he could smile and be happy again. “There were clubs bigger than Tottenham interested, but he had to be happy with the club he was going to.”

Bale happy with Spurs return: ‘I wrote history here’

With the move to Tottenham, his seven-year contract with Real Madrid came to an end, in which he won the Champions League four times, the World Cup for club teams and twice the Spanish national title. “We all agreed that his time at Real Madrid was over. It was quite easy once it turned out that Tottenham was seriously interested, ”says Barnett. Bale barely came to play at the end of last season and was not even part of the selection during the last two official games.

“It was the result of a character clash, his lack of support, and a lot of other things. For someone who has done so well at Real Madrid, he didn’t get the respect he deserved and that was a big deal. For what he’s accomplished at Real Madrid, they should kiss the floor he walks on, ”Bale’s advocate is clear. “For seven years everyone has said that Gareth Bale doesn’t speak Spanish. But he speaks Spanish! ”

“Everyone says Gareth Bale doesn’t care about football, but he loves it and that has never changed,” Barnett continued. “Maybe he got fed up with other things, but not football and I hope people will realize that when he returns to Tottenham so they can stop talking nonsense. The same goes for the talk of golf. Much has been written in the British and Spanish press. All of this is so untrue that it is actually criminal. He’s still a Real Madrid player, so I won’t say anything else. Read the book in a few years … ”
