Mounir El Allouchi has found a new club after his transfer-free departure from NAC Breda. The 26-year-old midfielder, good for thirteen goals and thirteen assists in the Kitchen Champion Division last season, has committed himself for two seasons to the Moroccan top club FAR Rabat, which last season finished third in the Moroccan Botola Pro competition behind Wydad Casablanca and Raja Casablanca.

El Allouchi was one of the longest serving players at NAC Breda in recent years. He broke through in 2014 and has played for the Breda team ever since, with the exception of six months in which he was loaned out to Helmond Sport. He is lyrical about his transfer. “I am very happy with it. The complete picture is great. Sporty, financial, beautiful city. Not normal, man,” the midfielder tells BN DeStem.

With twelve national titles and eleven national cups, it is the most successful club in Morocco after Wydad Casablanca; only Wydad Casablanca became champion more often (twenty times). The team is trained by the Belgian Sven Vandenbroeck, former player of Roda JC and De Graafschap. “I have spoken to the coach about what he thinks about football. I have gathered a lot of information about the club. Everyone praised it. The facilities are not normal, man. The complex is big. The army also trains there, FAR is the club of the army and thus indirectly of the king who also lives in Rabat.”

“Cinder track, swimming pools, boxing center, everything you can think of,” says El Allouchi enthusiastically. The Stade Moulay Abdallah has a capacity of over 50,000 seats. “It is very lively. Moroccan supporters are really crazy anyway. Beautiful, man. In normal matches there are about 20,000, 25,000 men, but in derbies at least 40,000.” Rabat itself is also a beautiful city. “I’m from the north, Al Hoceima. But this is another world. A beautiful city. Beaches, palm trees, very neat and tidy. Economically perhaps the city of Africa. Special to see.”
