Hans Kraay junior pleads Sunday morning Good morning Eredivisie for a second contract of employment of Ronald Koeman as national coach of the Dutch national team. He sees the clubless coach as the ideal successor to Louis van Gaal, who normally leaves after the World Cup in Qatar later this year. Koeman is without an employer after his resignation from Barcelona a few months ago.
“Louis van Gaal will absolutely stop after Qatar”, opens Kraay junior in the morning program of ESPN† “And if that hasn’t happened yet, I don’t think so, because everything is leaking out in this jungle. If I were the KNVB, I would contact Ronald Koeman as soon as possible. Because he did a fantastic job and is there good with the players. Like Van Gaal, he is a boss who can be above the parties. Why not do everything you can to capture him as soon as possible? Then you can say: “Perhaps that will be Van Gaal Van Gaal will not be interested in that, because he is going to Qatar and then we need a boss in the future,” the analyst looks ahead to the future of the Dutch.

“I would try to capture Ronald Koeman as soon as possible, before he gets a great offer somewhere and you can’t capture him anymore. So I think that’s a good move,” adds Kraay junior. Companion Marciano Vink sees Koeman as a possible candidate for PSV, where Roger Schmidt will leave after the end of this season. “Wouldn’t he be a candidate at PSV?” the former player wonders. “And then the last part of the training of Ruud van Nistelrooij under Koeman”, Vink refers to the trainer of Jong PSV, who has already indicated that he does not want to succeed Schmidt next season.
Vink wonders who within the KNVB should make the first contacts with Koeman, as director of top football Nico-Jan Hoogma will leave the football association in June. “Marianne van Leeuwen?”, Kraay junior refers to the director of professional football of the KNVB.
