The KNVB has so far earned 18.75 million euros thanks to the performances of the Dutch national team at the European Championship. A lot more money can be added to that in the coming week, if the Netherlands reaches the final and even wins it.

Almost half of the 18.75 million euros consists of the starting bonus, which amounted to 9.25 million euros.

For every victory a country books at the European Championship, there is 1 million euros available. A draw is rewarded with an amount of 500,000 euros.

The Netherlands won in the group stage against Poland (1-2) and drew against France (0-0). That meant a total amount of 1.5 million euros. That was enough for the Dutch to qualify for the round of 16, which was rewarded with another 1.5 million euros.

So after the group stage the KNVB already had an amount of 12.25 million euros. By reaching the quarter finals (2.5 million euros) and semi finals (4 million euros) that amount increased to 18.75 million euros last week.

If the final is reached, another 5 million euros will be added. If the final is won, that amount will increase to 8 million euros. Ultimately, the final amount for the Dutch Football Association could be as much as 26.75 million euros.

However, it is not yet that far. First, the Netherlands must try to reach the final at all. The semi-final is scheduled for Wednesday evening at 21:00, in Dortmund against England.
