Heracles Almelo is dealing with a corona infection within the selection. One of the players from the Eredivisie club tested positive just before the start of the competition. He will therefore be missing at home against ADO Den Haag in the first game of the new season on Sunday. Heracles does not want to say who it is for privacy reasons.

The infected football player has already decided to stay at home as a precaution. He is currently in quarantine. The other players and staff members of Heracles tested negative on Friday. During the preparation, everyone involved in the selection of Heracles was tested on the coronavirus several times. All the results were negative until the last test round just before the start of the competition.

Coach Frank Wormuth said on Friday that he did not have the injured defenders Navajo Bakboord (knee) and Giacomo Quagliata (muscle) against ADO Den Haag. Defender Noah Fadiga was then in doubt. Heracles-ADO starts on Sunday at 2.30pm in Erve Asito. Due to the corona measures, the stadium is only one third full of spectators.

All clubs from the Eredivisie and Kitchen Champions Division must have their players and staff tested for corona 48 hours before a match. In the event of a positive result, the person is not welcome to play along. The game is canceled if less than thirteen players are available due to contamination. This was not yet the case in the Kitchen Champion Division and this weekend not in the Eredivisie either.
